If you are a student without a TCE science background, or an alternate entry or mature age student returning to study, BioStart will provide some science study skills and basic principles of chemistry. It is designed to introduce students to the subject matter and culture of teaching and learning that they will encounter in the School of Human Life Sciences.
Summer Semester (Sem 3) 15 February 2010 – 18 February 2010
Summer semester enrolment in CXA001 BioStart is available ONLY to those students who have been offered a place in the Bachelor of Human Movement, Bachelor of Health Science or Riawunna students. Also, Associate Degree in General Studies students who are enrolled in CXA161 Introduction to Human Biology and KRA161 Chemistry for Life Sciences are also eligible to enrol in this unit.
Winter Semester (Sem 4)
- 7 July 2010 – 9 July -Hobart
- 5 July 2010 – 7 July – Launceston
- 5 July 2010 – 7 July – Rozelle
- 5 July 2010 – 7 July – St Vincents (Sydney)
Winter semester enrolment in CXA001 BioStart is available ONLY to those students who are enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing & Midwifery or the Bachelor of Paramedic Studies. BioStart will be offered in Launceston, Hobart, St Vincents & Rozelle. BioStart will provide science study skills prior to commencing CXA107 Fundamentals of Bioscience in Semester 2. It is recommended that students enrol in BioStart in the location where they are undertaking their studies.
