Orientaton Day - 20th February 2009

The orientation day is compulsory for all first year students enrolled in courses in the School of Human Life Sciences:

  • Bachelor of Biomedical Science (M3G)
  • Bachelor of Exercise Science  (M3Q)
  • Bachelor of Health Science (M3H)
  • Bachelor of Health Science/Bachelor of Teaching (M3P)
  • Bachelor of Health Science/Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Medical Imaging) (M3L)
  • Bachelor of Health Science (Environmental Health) (M3R)
9.15am Meet in Lecture Theatre 9 (LT9) – Welcome
9.30am LT9 - General University Information Session – campus info, maps, room numbering, parking, transport, courses, units, student administration, library, CALT and student services.
11.00am Meet in Lecture Theatre 1 (LT1) – Information for students enrolled in degree courses in the School of Human Life Sciences  (all courses listed above) info about:  the first year web page, HLS first year information booklet, school staff and facilities, mentors, unit outlines. rules and realities of university life; what we do together, teaching & learning – our job, your job; when things go wrong
12.30 – 2pm Lunch – Student Association BBQ – take time to tour the campus, get your ID card, catch up with friends, meet your mentor, log on to the web.
1.30pm – 2pm Mentors will be available in D001 to assist you with MyLo (My Learning on Line)
   
2pm – 3.30pm Individual sessions for School of Human Life Sciences degree courses:
 
  • Bachelor of Biomedical Science group – go to Lecture Theatre C227 – with Dr Murray Adams
 
  • Bachelor of Health Science, Bachelor of Health Science (Environmental Health), Bachelor of Health Science/Bachelor of Teaching, Bachelor of Health Science/Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Medical Imaging) – go to Room C135/137 – with Mrs Tracy Douglas & Mrs Susan Salter
 
  • Bachelor of Exercise Science – go to Room C140 – with Dr James Fell & Dr Andrew Williams
   
3.30pm – 4pm At the conclusion of the individual sessions there will be a get together for all groups.  The mentors will take you to afternoon refreshments in the Human Life Sciences courtyard.
   
3.30pm – 4pm If you have any enrolment issues/problems see Christa Moch in Room C112.
